1 <br />' CLOSURE REPORT <br /> SOUTHLAND SITE NO. 20680 <br />' 9110 THORNTON ROAD <br /> STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA <br />' MAY 21, 1993 <br />' 1.0 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY <br /> This report presents a summary of the site history, remediation activities, and the confirmation soil <br />' boring program conducted by Groundwater Technology, on behalf of The Southland Corporation <br /> (Southland) at Southland Site No 20680 (site) located at 9110 Thornton Road in Stockton, California <br /> (Figures 1 and 2) The confirmation soil boring program was presented in Groundwater <br /> Technology's Pro sal to Implement Site Cleanup Qonfirmation, dated July 7, 1992 The proposal <br /> was amended in Groundwater Technology's July 31, 1992, letter to San Joaquin Public Health <br /> Services (SJPHS) The scope of work for site cleanup confirmation included drilling nine soil <br /> borings, collecting soil samples, submitting the soil samples for laboratory analyses, and preparing <br /> this Closure„Rgnort The scope of work was designed to meet the closure requirements of the <br /> SJPHS and the California Regional Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB), Central Valley Region <br /> In 1986, a leaking underground storage tank (UST) was detected at the site After, the detection of <br /> Ithe UST leak, Southland Initiated the following tasks <br /> I ■ Installation of 24 monitoring wells, 4 recovery wells, 1 sod boring, and 4 vapor <br /> extraction wells, <br /> ■ Installation and operation a product recovery and groundwater treatment system <br /> Iand a vapor extraction system, <br /> ■ Monitoring and sampling of on-site and off-site groundwater monitoring wells and <br /> Ioff-site private domestic wells, <br /> ■ Removal of three USTs and associated product lines, and <br /> ■ Implementation of the confirmation soil boring program <br /> 1211RO13 <br /> GROUNDWATER <br /> I TECHNOLOGY, INC <br />
