Quarterly Project Update Report January 29, 1993 <br /> Southland Store No 20680, 9110 Thornton Road, Stockton, CA 3 <br /> I2.2 Groundwater Sampling and Analyses <br /> IMonitoring wells MWA, MWA 3, MW-15ABC, MW-16, MWA7ABC, MWA8 through MW-20, former <br /> pumping well PW-3, and former recovery well RW-1 were sampled on December 23, 1992 The <br /> status of monitoring wells not sampled on December 23, 1992, is summarized to Table 2 <br /> Samples were collected according to Groundwater Technology's SOPS, copies of which are <br /> included In Appendix A Groundwater sampling was conducted by first purging water from each <br /> well using a polyvinyl chloride (PVC) bailer Each well was purged by hand bailing, removing at <br /> Ileast 4 well volumes of water, or purged until dry The groundwater was then allowed to recover to <br /> at least 80 percent of the original static water level before sampling The groundwater samples were <br /> Icollected using an Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)-approved Teflon® sampler All samples <br /> were collected in laboratory-supplied containers, preserved, labeled, and stored on ice Samples <br /> I were transported according to chain-of-custody protocol to a California-certified laboratory, GTEL <br /> Environmental Laboratories, Inc (GTEL) in Concord, Calrfomia Each sample was analyzed for <br /> benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylenes (BTEX) and total petroleum hydrocarbons-as-gasoline <br /> (TPH-G) using modified EPA Methods 5030/8020/8015 <br /> IAnalyses of the samples collected on December 23, 1992, from groundwater monitoring wells <br /> MW-13, MWA 5ABC, MWA 6, MWA 7ABC, MW-18 through MW-20, former pumping well PW-3 and <br /> Iformer recovery well RWA reported that benzene and TPH-G concentrations were below MDLs in all <br /> samples The analytical results of the groundwater sample collected from monitoring well MW-1 on <br /> I December 23, 1992, reported a TPH-G concentration of 33 ppb and a toluene concentrations of 33 <br /> ppb Analytical results of the groundwater sample collected from well MW-15A reported toluene <br /> I concentrations at 0 3 ppb and xylene concentrations at 0 7 ppb Analytical results of the <br /> groundwater sample collected from well MW-15C reported toluene concentrations at 0 5 ppb and <br /> xylene concentrations at 2 ppb Benzene was not detected above the MDL in the groundwater <br /> sample collected from monitoring well MWA <br /> Water samples were collected from domestic wells 8968, 9036, 1912, 9140, 9156, and 9172 on <br /> October 29, November 30, and December 23, 1992 The addresses and owners of routinely <br /> sampled domestic wells are summarized in Table 4 Analytical results of groundwater samples <br />. collected from the domestic wells reported no BTEX concentrations A TPH-G concentration of 14 <br /> IR1211A2 RH <br /> _J L GROUNDWATER <br /> �IF-1 i�TECHNOWGY, INC <br /> I <br />
