Box 2009
Stockton, CA 95201
FROM: Quik Stop Markets, Inc-
P. O. Box 5745
Fremont, CA 94537
RE: Preliminary Report on Unauthorized Release at.
Quik Stop #120
9321 N. Thornton Road
Stockton, CA 95201
Ms. Foley:
In answer to your letter dated March 27, 1990 regarding the above
site, I am supplying the following information based on what has
been found at the site as of Friday, March 30 1990.
1) Based on the knowledge that one of the monitoring probes
showed an alarm situation, the release occurred late Friday
afternoon, March 1.6, 1990 and continued until Sunday when the
station was shut down. Subsequent investigation at the site
shows the most probable cause of the release to be a small
leak at a fitting on the Regular product line where the line
was split to service the dispenser on the island. To date,
this is the only problem that has been found on any of the
underground piping. Based on the summary of the inventory
reconciliation information previously submitted, a possible
loss of 37. 1 gallons of Regular gasoline occurred.
2) Repairs to the system will be made according to the attached
Construction plan submitted to your office by Precision
Industries in Stockton.
3) After all of the repairs have been made to the system, a full
system precision test will be performed on all four (4)
products before putting system back in service.
