(GTI) for the above referenced site.
The workplan describes the installation of three monitoring wells. The well locations are based
on groundwater data gathered to date. The purpose of these three wells is to define the
northern, eastern and southern extent of the existing plume.
In the May 4,1995 report, GTI recommends a hydrocarbon scan analysis to identify the fuel
noted in the chromatogram pattern present in analyses of soil and water samples obtained during
the February 16, 1995 investigation. In the report GTI also recommends utilizing EPA method
8010 to identify any chlorinated volatile organic compounds and EPA 8270 to identify any semi-
volatile organic compounds that may be present. In a June 14, 1995 letter, PHS/EHD concured
with the recommendations of the May 4, 1995 GTI report.
At this time, PHS/EHD recommends analysis of soil samples obtained during the installation of
the new wells by EPA method 8010, in addition to EPA 8020 and EPA 8015 mentioned in the
workplan. PHS/EHD recommends analysis of water samples obtained from the new wells and
the existing wells by EPA method 601 and 602. Analysis of soil and water samples by EPA
Method 8270 may be necessary to identify the unidentified long chain hydrocarbon present at
this site.
Permit #005319 issued to Transglobal Environmental of Sacramento will expire February 14,
1996. If the proposed wells are to be installed by an alternate driller a new permit will be
required and a permit fee of $89 shall be submitted to PHS/EHD prior to onsite drilling.
A Division of San Joaquin County Health Care Services
