;l 1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> t Barbara Drake has retained Groundwater Technology, Inc. to perform environmental services at <br /> 26485 Thornton Road, Thornton, Califomla. <br /> The Site Safety Plan is written to ensure the wellbeing of all field personnel and the community <br /> surrounding the site. Accordingly, project staff and approved Groundwater Technology <br /> subcontractors must follow the policies and procedures established in the Site Safety Pian. All <br /> personnel assigned to this project must sign the Agreement and Acknowledgement Sheet (Appendix <br /> A-2) to confirm that they understand and agree to abide by the provisions of the plan. <br /> All work will comply with the OSHA Standard, "Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency <br /> Response," (29 CFR 1910.120) and other federal, state and local procedures that require the <br /> development and implementation of a Site Safety Plan. <br /> This plan addresses the safety issues associated with retail petroleum station operations typically <br /> involving the following site tasks: <br /> ■ Field Survey/Walkover ■ Aquifer Pump Test <br /> ■ Drilling/Boring/Soli Sampling ■ Tank Removal <br /> ■ Well Installation 0 Excavation/Trenching <br /> ■ Well Monitoring and Maintenance n Confined Space Entry <br /> ■ Sol] Gas Survey ■ Groundwater Sampling <br /> All activities of this project will be carried out under Modified Level D or Level C Personal Protective <br /> Equipment (PPE). This Site Safety Plan must be modified or amended when circumstances or <br /> conditions develop that are beyond the scope of routine gas station operations. Such conditions <br /> '.'include: <br /> a Presence of Chlorinated Solvents ■ Air Stripper Cleaning <br /> ■ Presence of Pesticides ■ Troubleshooting Energized Equipment <br /> ■ Level B Work ■ Presence of nonhydrocarbon Materials <br /> Any changes in project work scope and/or site conditions as described must be amended in writing <br /> by the Health and Safety Representative (HSR) on the Site Safety Plan Amendment Sheet (Appendix <br /> A-1). <br /> ❑❑W'GROUNDWATER <br /> ❑❑❑ TECHNOLOGY . <br /> 1 <br />
