Generally the surface soils consisted of clay. As shallow percolation tests
proved adequate for conventional septic systems, no further soil exploration was
necessary.
The two percolation tests were performed in holes varying from 9 inch to 10
inch diameter by 36 inch deep backfilled with 3" of gravel. All holes were filled with
water 24 hours prior to running the test. The test holes for Parcel 1 and the
remainder parcel were performed under a 4 hour test. The last half hour of the tests
readings were witnessed by a County Health Official and the test data obtained is
enclosed in the Appendix.
Parcel Number Percolation Rate
1 1 inch/hr.
Remainder 1.5 inch/hr.
VII. CONCLUSION
Based on the results of the percolation tests and the soil profile, it is Dillon &
Murphy's opinion that the homesite and remainder parcel resulting from the proposed
parcel split of the subject property is suited for the co, sir:.:.-+ion of a typical on site
sewage disposal system. The proposed system, hct—War, snould be properly
designed and installed according to current San Joaquin Ccanty criteria.
It should be noted that the location of each of the percolation tests was chosen as the
most likely location for a disposal field. If the actual location of a proposed disposal
field varies significantly from the test locations, the test data should not be considered
accurate of other locations.
Based on the depth to ground water in the area, and the size of the proposed
parcels, it is our opinion that the installation of the proposed septic systems, if properly
installed, should not adversely affect the quality of the ground water in the area.
VII. LIMITATIONS
The conclusions of this report are based on the information provided regarding
the proposed development, the use of the subject property, and the site as they
existed at the time we excavated out test hole and performed the percolation tests. It
was assumed that the test hole and percolation test results are representative of the
subsurface conditions in the general area.
2
1t
