Bender Rd.
Acampo, California
Our Job #: S9674
MS 96-4
Gentlemen:
Per your request we have completed performing a deep pit percolation test at the subject
project. This letter and attachments presents the results of our test.
The test hole was excavated with a truck mounted drill rig utilizing 4.5 inch diameter
continuous flight auger. For approximate location of the test hole (PT) see the attached test data
sheet. The test hole was logged by an engineer and a description of the soils encountered is
presented on the attached Log of Test Hole. Generally, a low permeable cemented clay stratum
was encountered from 3 to 4 feet with a very permeable sand stratum encountered from 11.0 to
14.0 feet. For a detailed description of the soils encountered see the test hole log.
A deep pit percolation tests was performed in the test hole. The test was performed
within the sand stratum. Two inches of gravel was placed in the bottom of the 4.5 inch diameter
hole. A 2.5 inch diameter perforated pipe was then placed in the hole and backfilled with gravel.
The test hole was filled with water 24 hours prior to running the test. A county health official
witnessed the performance of the test. A copy of the test data obtained is attached. The
percolation rate has been adjusted to account for the gravel and pipe backfill. Calculations for
the adjustment are on the test data sheet.
A summary of the test results is presented next:
Diameter of Depth of
Test No. Hole in. Hole ft. Percolation Rate (min/in)
PT-1 4.5 14.0 0.06
EXIT
