Plain: FERMIT/SERVICES
Re : Early Consultation Request : Scope of Hazardous Waste
Investigation for a Proposed Residential Subdivision in
Lathrop, San Joaquin County (SU-88-14)
The San Joaquin County Planning Division is currently reviewing a
proposal for a +150-lot residential subdivision just off Louise
Avenue in Lathrop. We have identified three known toxic waste
sites within 2000 feet of this project and have enclosed copies
of all available data that we have on these sites. We would
appreciate specific input from your division on the scope of any
on-site investigation required for the processing and approval of
this project. The input should include any requirements that may
need to be fulfilled for a "border zone determination. "
Based on the Initial Study, it appears that traffic and toxics
are the only issues of potential , significant impact . Based on
this, we will proceed with a Negative Declaration if adequate
mitigation measures are available to address these two areas of
impact . In order to have the environmental review completed
within the six months allowed by CEQA, we would appreciate a
response at your earliest convenience. If we do not receive any
input from your division, we will assume that additional studies
or mitigations are not necessary for this proposal to proceed
with a Negative Declaration.
Thank you in advance for your consideration in this matter.
Please call this office if you have any questions .
Sincerely,
- J
KITTY 4LKER
Senior Planner
KW/blm
Enclosure_.
cc : Fred Kaufman& Laurie Cotulla, Local Health District
Barbara Marcotte, Toxic Substances Control Division
Leo Prediger & Dennis Ulrich, Franco Construction
Dan Thompson _ _
