i <br /> the SWRCB Clean up Fund Letter of Committment,r'you must make application to <br /> the state of California< W'ater Resources Control Board's (SWRCs) "Petroleum_ <br /> underground StorageyTank Cleanup Fund" {Fund} An application package for the <br /> Fund has been provided. i <br /> 1; <br /> The Fund was created pursuant to Chapter 6,75 `of the California Health and <br /> Safety Code to helpleligible owners and operators of petroleum underground <br /> storage tanks to. k <br /> 1. fleet federal requirements to demonstrate financial responsibility; <br /> 2 Obtain reimbursement for casts of ,the cleanup of unauthorized <br /> releases of petroleum from USTs and. <br /> 3. obtain. reimtaursement for damages awarded to third parties who are <br /> injutredby petroleum releases. <br /> The maximum amountavailablefrom the Fund is �,!$990,000 per occurrence._ <br /> Claimants are responsible for the first $10,000 cif eligible costs. <br /> Applications must be submitted to the SWRCS Clean Up 'Fund by March 31, 1994 to <br /> undergo elig bi litg!ranking for funding in the 1994-95 state fiscal budget <br /> year. All subsurface investigations a;d remedial actions must be performed <br /> under ;a workplan approved by PHS/EBD. <br /> The Fund does not:cover the costs incurred for the removal; repair, retrofit, <br /> or installation offUSTs.
