The CUF
recommends that the EHD consider the site for closure.
Contaminants in two monitoring welis have been relatively elevated in the core area since June
2008; benzene commonly the more concentrated volatile organic compound. Ozone sparging
wells have been recently Installed on the site and it is planned to move an ozone generator onto
the site in the near future to conduct a six-month extended pilot test, which may reduce the k
residual contaminant concentrations in the area. As preparations for initiating the pilot test are in
progress, the 'EHD requests` that the CUF reconsider the closure recommendation until the is
ozone sparge test has been completed:
If the EHD can be of further service to you, your requests, questions and/or comments should
be directed to Lori Duncan at(209)468-0837 or to Nuel Henderson at (209)468-3436.
Sincerely, #
Lori Duncan, REHS Nuel Henderson, PC t
Senior Registered Environmental Engineering Geologist
Health Specialist
i
t.
r
i
First Five-Year Review Comment Letter 2011,ddc
