Hazelton Ave
Stockton, CA 95205
Re: Family Dollar Store#32181
2043 Jackson Drive
Escalon, CA 95320
Dear Ms. Florido,
In response to your request for additional information relative your inspection conducted on
March 27, 2019, at Family Dollar Store#32181 (1218 1) in Escalon, California,please see the
outline below, and the exhibits which follow, referencing existing procedures, documentation
and/or actions taken:
Violations 101 & 102: The entire response to these alleged violations, submitted in the return to
compliance, was addressing hazardous waste. (Empty chemical containers and materials from
chemical spill clean-ups must be processed as hazardous waste.)
Violation 106: This is the Management Training signoff kept at the store (EXHIBIT A), though
on an old form. The Store Manager trained the night crew, so there are additional associates
listed on this one. (The blurry signoff provided originally was Julia's copy indicating the four
managers she trained that morning.)
Violations 109, 110 & 111: The generator copy of manifest 001386280FLE is not legible,
though I have provided a copy here (EXHIBIT B 1). The signed designated facility manifest is
also provided(EXHIBIT B2). I have submitted the appropriate documentation to DTSC
(EXHIBIT 133).
Violation 403: The floor cleaner is not hazardous, but we treat it that way to avoid confusion
with similar store-use products. The stores are allowed to collect the very small empty bags in a
larger self-sealing plastic bag between hazardous waste pickups (approximately every 6 months).
It is typically located in the store use area or near the mop sink. The accumulation date is to be
written on the outside of the large bag. It should be processed as state-regulated hazardous waste.
We will provide additional training on this matter as part of the materials roll-out.
Violation 601 & 605: The floor cleaner waste would have been included in the next Stericycle
pick up. I have included the facility manifests (EXHIBIT Q. There is no additional
documentation.
FAMILY DOLLAR STORES, INC., POST OFFICE BOX 1017, CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA 28201-1017(704)847-6961
