RECEIVED BY SJCEHD (EF) on 4/14/2020
FAMILY10 OLLAR
my family.my family dollar.
April 14, 2020
Sent via email to Elianna Florido at eflorido@sjgov.org
San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Dept
1868 E. Hazelton Ave
Stockton, CA 95205
Re: ADDENDUM to RTC SUBMISSION JUNE 7, 2019
Family Dollar Store#31867 (11867)
2318 S. Airport Way
Stockton, CA 95206
Dear Ms. Florido,
In response to the inspection conducted on April 25, 2019, and the amended report of
May 6, 2019, for Family Dollar Store#31867 (11867) in Stockton, California, please see the
outline below, and the exhibits which follow, referencing existing procedures, documentation
and/or actions taken:
Violation 106: As part of the post-inspection management training, totes containing hazardous
waste are assessed for proper processing. It is emphasized that empty chemical containers NEVER
go in the trash, but must be processed as waste (this includes empty store-use containers). We are
adding a requirement to our hazardous waste training_/pro rgam:
The manager with primary responsibility for the accumulation area, must follow-up on any
empty containers to verify where/how the contents were used or spilled. If a spill cleanup,
there should be cleanup materials bagged with the empty container. If not, the manager must
try to determine who placed the empty container in the tote and verify where/how the contents
were used or disposed of. Any exceptions must be corrected and noted on the weekly
inspection form.
The reference guide used for training is the one you had attached to your April 13, 2020, email
request. This is also the guide we used when we delivered classroom-based training to all Family
Dollar CA Store Managers in May 2019.
Please let me know if you need anything else.
Sherry Aebersold
Manager, Environmental Health& Safety Compliance
Dollar Tree & Family Dollar
209.483.8434
FAMILY DOLLAR STORES, INC., POST OFFICE BOX 1017, CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA 28201-1017(704)847-6961
