24 May 2001
AGE-NC Project No 96-0254
• Low concentrations of TPH-g, TPH-d and BTEX compounds were detected in the water
sample collected from Sand Zone B in CPT-2 (61 feet to 65 feet bsg) None of the analytes
were detected at or above laboratory reporting limits in the three ground water samples
collected from CPT-I
• The vertical extent of petroleum hydrocarbon-impacted groundwater has not been defined
in the area of CPT-2, MW1 and MW-7 (15 feet north of the former UST area) Impacted
ground water in this area occurs at 65 feet bsg The low diesel and toluene concentrations
detected in Sand Zone A samples collected from MW-7 (Figure 3) and less than, detectable
concentrations of all analytes in the intermediate depth-screened MW-IB suggests that the
contamination encountered in Sand Zone B of CPT-2 may have migrated laterally to the
CPT-2 location from further upgradient
• The vertical extent of petroleum hydrocarbon-impacted groundwater has been defined further
downgradient of CPT-2, MW1 and MW-7 Impacted ground water in this area(CPT-1) does
not extend to 26 feet bsg
lie 5.0. RECOMMENDATIONS
Based on data acquired from this investigation AGE recommends, further vertical and lateral
assessment in the area of and upgradient of CPT-2
r60 LIMITATIONS
Our professional services were performed using that degree of care and skill ordinarily exercised by J
environmental consultants practicing in this or similar localities The findings were based mainly
upon analytical results provided by an independent laboratory Evaluations of the geologic/hydro-
geologic conditions at the site for the purpose of this investigation are made from a limited number
of available data points(CPT data and ground water samples), and subsurface conditions may vary
away from these data points No other warranty, expressed or implied, is made as to the professional
Irecommendations contained in this report
1
•
1
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc
I
