INTRODUCTION[ <br />' In accordance with a request from Mr Joe Toste,Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc , (AGE) has <br /> prepared this Preliminary investigation and Evaluation Report(PIER) for 2450 Toste Road In Tracy, <br /> California(the site) The scope of work included establishment of nine soil probe borings collection <br />' and analysis of soil and ground water samples, and preparation of this report of findings The <br /> location of the site with respect to its surroundings is Illustrated In Figure 1 - Location Map <br /> Buildings and boring locations on the site are illustrated in Figure 2 - Site Plan <br /> IThis report is prepared In accordance with San Joaquin County Public Health Services - <br /> Envlionmental Health Division (PHS-EHD) and Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control <br /> IBoard guidelines for the investigation of underground storage tanks (UST) sites <br /> 20 BACKGROUND <br /> . <br /> 21 SITE LOCATION <br /> The site is located in a business/agricultural area of western Tracy, California, <br /> In San Joaquin County <br /> (Figure 1) The property is located in a highway-retail business development owned by Mr Toe <br /> Toste, Jr A new/used car sales lot is located on the property Two large structures, a <br /> showroom/office complex and an auto detailing/storage shop, are located oil the property The <br /> I northern edge of the property lies adjacent to Grant Line Gas and Food a UST site presently <br /> undergoing impacted soil and groundwater assessment <br /> I22 UNDER GROUND STORAGE TANK REMOVAL <br /> It is our under standing that three USTs, dispensers and piping were removed from the site on 31 July <br /> 1991 The removal was witnessed by a representative of the San Joaquin County Public Health <br /> Services - Enviioriniental Health Division (PHS-EHD) Six soil samples were collected from the <br /> sidewalls of the excavation on 31 July 1991 Because groundwater was encountered in the <br /> excavation at a depth of approximately 6 feet below surface grade (bsg), excavation floor samples <br /> I were not collected One grab groundwater sample was collected One soil sample was also collected <br /> beneath the piping/dispenser area <br /> I All soil samples were collected at a depth of 5 feet bsg The samples were analyzed for total <br /> petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline (TPH-g), volatile aromatics (benzene, toluene, <br /> . ethylbenzene and total xylene BTE&X), lead and ethylene dibromide (EDB) <br /> Advanced GeoEnvironmental Inc <br />
