KLEINFFLDER April 19, 1989 File: 24-2125-20 1 Mr. Dan Bilbrey Tracy Community Memorial Hospital 1420 North Tracy Boulevard Tracy, CA 95376-3497 SUBJECT: Soil Sampling Results, " Tracy Community Memorial Hospital Dear Mr. Bilbrey: This letter is an addendum to Kleinfelder's "Ground Water Investigation Report", dated April 7, 1989, and presents the soil sample analytical results'that were not available when that report was submitted. This letter only includes the boring log for one soil boring where samples were collected for analysis, and the associated analytical results. In March 1989, Kleinfelder installed and sampled three monitoring wells at Tracy Memorial Hospital to assess the possible presence of hydrocarbons in the ground water under the site. The results of the ground water investigation are presented in Kleinfelder's "Ground Water Investigation Report," dated April 7, 1989. During drilling, field observations indicated the possible presence of hydrocarbon in the soil at the intended location of MW-2 (labeled B-8 on Plate 1). MW-2 was subsequently relocated and twb soil samples from B-8 (collected at depths of 10 and 11.5 feet below ground surface, see PIates 2 8r. 3) were submitted to Chemwest Analytical Laboratories for analysis of benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylene (BTEX) and total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH) extractable. The laboratory reported nondetectable concentrations of BTEX in both soil samples. TPH was detected in the sample collected at a depth of 10 feet at 14 m&/k (the detection limit is 10 ingfkg). No detectable concentration of TPH was reported In the other soil sample. The laboratory report is attached. Based on these results, it does not appear that significant soil contamination exists at B-8, the originally intended location of MW-2.
