16 <br /> Medical Surveillance Requirements <br /> Medical surveillance is conducted as a routine program which meets the requirements <br /> of 29CFR 1910.120(f). This project requires no special tests or examinations. <br /> Site Control Measures <br /> The Brown and Caldwell representative is in charge of on-site activities and is <br /> f�. responsible for site control. Vehicular traffic is excluded from the work area using traffic <br /> cones, engineering tape, barricades, and temporary fencing. All excavations are surrounded <br /> by temporary fencing to reduce public hazard. During off duty hours. all machinery is <br /> parked in front of temporary fencing to further limit access to excavations. <br /> Work Practices <br /> Safe work practices for this project include: <br /> 1. Use only new gloves. Change them if they tear and in between samples. <br /> 2. Decontaminate sampling equipment on site; all used disposables should be i <br /> properly disposed of on site. ` <br /> 3. No smoking, eating, drinking or. applying. cosmetics while in. the contaminated <br /> area. <br /> 4. Never use hands to wipe sweat away from face. Use a clean towel or paper <br /> towels. <br /> 5. Wash hands, arms, and face at the decontamination station immediately upon <br /> existing from the contaminated area, and prior to leaving the site. <br /> 6. Disposable items (i.e., gloves) must be bagged for <br /> disposal_ Sampling equipment will be washed with laboratory grade detergent, rinsed with <br /> tap water, then rinsed with deionized water before reuse. Use soap, water and clean paper <br /> towels to wash hands, arms and face prior to leaving. site. <br />
