T1 j <br /> URS <br /> 2005 APR 14 PM 1: 34 <br /> SAN J0P Q1jj,"4 COUNTY <br /> April 11, 2005 E N y]'- 1O l i E N T A L <br /> HEALTH DDIARTNEHT <br /> Mr Harlin Knoll, RE H S 02093 <br /> San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department 06 a3 <br /> 304 East Weber Avenue, Third Floor <br /> Stockton, CA 95202 <br /> RE: Response to Initial Comments to Site Closure Report <br /> Former ARCO Station No. 2093 <br /> 3425 Tracy Boulevard, <br /> Tracy, California <br /> Dear Mr Knoll <br /> On behalf of Atlantic Richfield Company (ARCO — a BP-affiliated company), URS Corporation <br /> Americas (URS) is providing this letter to the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department <br /> (SJCEHD) in response to comments regarding well locations presented in the Site Closure Report dated <br /> February 24, 2005, for the former ARCO Station 2093 (site) located at 3425 Tracy Boulevard in Tracy, <br /> California In a telephone conversation with URS, you requested additional information regarding the <br /> • domestic supply well located at 3775 Tracy Boulevard in Tracy, CA <br /> The following letter presents revised text, revised Table 4, revised Figure 1, and Department of Water <br /> Resources (DWR) well completion reports for wells identified in the DWR well search <br /> Sensitive Receptors <br /> During the fourth quarter of 2004, URS performed a sensitive receptor survey at the site to identify the <br /> locations of water wells (municipal, domestic, and agricultural) within 2000 feet and surface water <br /> bodies, schools, and other receptors within 500 feet of the site The survey consisted of review of <br /> Department of Water Resources (DWR) San Joaquin District office well information, contacting the <br /> City of Tracy Public Works Water Resources Division (CTPWWRD), the local water purveyors, to <br /> ascertain the location of and pertinent well construction information for nearby wells, and a 500-foot <br /> field reconnaissance to locate and/or confirm the presence of wells or other sensitive receptors <br /> DWR records identified 14 wells within 2,000 feet of the site The records included information about <br /> 13 domestic wells and one well of unknown use The nearest identified well is approximately 700 feet <br /> north of the site and is located at the Chevron gasoline station across Hwy 205 This well is screened <br /> between 123 feet and 131 feet deep This well is no Ionger in use by the station, and it's location could <br /> not be verified The results of the DWR well search are provided in Table 4, the DWR well completion <br /> reports are presented in Appendix A, and the well locations are shown on Figure I <br /> Following initial review of the Site Closure Report dated February 24, 2005, SJCEHD provided URS <br /> with a well completion report that had been filed with the county but was not identified in the DWR <br /> records search The report is for a well owned by ARCO and located at the site However, the ARCO <br /> URS Corporation <br /> Crown Corporate Center <br /> 2870 Gateway Oaks Drive Suite 300 <br /> Sacramento CA 95833 <br /> Tel 916 679 2000 <br /> Fax 916 679 2900 K\Wprocess\J5 BP ARCO\020931Closure Report\ReponsetoHarlmsCotnments_030405 doc <br />
