Page 16 of 23 Standard Operating Procedures <br /> Health and Safety Plans <br /> 10.5 Waste Disposal <br /> All waste disposal operations shall be monitored by the SHSM and carred out under the <br /> appropriate level of personal protection described in Section 8 0 Personnel shall wear the <br /> prescribed clothing, especially eye protection and chemical resistant gloves, when handling waste <br /> materials Contamination avoidance shall be practiced at all times. Also see Section 12.0. <br /> 10.6 Confined Space Entry <br /> The scope of work does not require personnel to enter any confined space during the conduct <br /> of this project Confined space is defined as any space, depression or enclosure that has limited <br /> opening for entry and egress, may have limited ventilation, may contain or produce life- <br /> threatening atmospheres due to oxygen deficiency or the presence of toxic, flammable or <br /> corrosive contaminants, and which is not intended for continuous occupancy <br /> Examples of confined spaces prohibited from entry includes, but are not limited to, storage <br /> tanks, ventilation and exhaust ducts, stacks, pits, silos, vats, vaults, pipes and any topped open <br /> space four or more feet in depth that is not adequately ventilated <br /> 10.7 Additional Safe Work Practices <br /> The SHSM is to be referred to for specific concerns on each individual Site task. The safety <br /> rules listed below must be strictly followed <br /> • Always employ the buddy system, <br /> • Practice contamination avoidance, both on-Site and off-Site, <br /> • Plan activities ahead of time, <br /> • Do not climb over/under obstacles, <br /> • Be alert to your own physical condition, <br /> • Watch your buddy for signs of fatigue, exposure, heat or cold stress, etc ; <br /> • Report all accidents, no matter how minor, immediately to the SHSM, and <br /> • KNOW YOUR HEALTH AND SAFETY PLAN. <br /> ROUX ASSOCIATES RASP 4193 3425 Tracy Boulevard <br /> Tracy,California <br />
