SECOR <br /> International Incorporated <br /> January 17, 2003 JAN 2 7 2Q03 <br /> Project 77CH 43519 00 0270 EPQ"0I ,,j'NNIFNT HEALTH <br /> PERIvIP/SERVICES <br /> Ms Margaret Lagono <br /> San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department <br /> 304 East Webber Avenue, Third Floor <br /> Stockton, California 95202 <br /> Re Site Assessment Report <br /> Chevron Service Station 9-8264 <br /> 3775 Tracy Boulevard <br /> Tracy, California <br /> Dear Ms Lagono <br /> SECOR International Incorporated (SECOR) on behalf of Chevron Environmental <br /> Management Company(Chevron), presents this report to document the results of <br /> assessment activities at the above-referenced site (Figure 1) The purpose of the site <br /> . assessment was to further delineate the lateral extent of petroleum hydrocarbons in soil <br /> and groundwater beneath the site Four cone penetration testing (CPT)borings were <br /> advanced to assess soil stratigraphy Adjacent to each CPT boring, a second direct-push <br /> borehole was advanced to collect soil and groundwater samples This work was <br /> performed in accordance with SECOR's Work Plan for Site Assessment dated June 1, <br /> 2001, which was approved by San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department <br /> (SJPHD) in a letter dated June 13, 2001 <br /> SITE BACKGROUND <br /> The site is an operating Chevron service station located in a mixed <br /> commercial/residential area Current station facilities include three pump islands under <br /> a common canopy, three underground storage tanks (USTs) in a common excavation, <br /> and a station building (Figure 2) An operating Shell service station is located directly <br /> south of the site and a former Unocal service station was located east (across Tracy <br /> Boulevard) of the site Additional site investigation information pertinent to this <br /> assessment is summarized in Attachment A <br /> ASSESSMENT ACTIVITIES AND FINDINGS <br /> On May 6 through 8, 2002, a SECOR representative supervised Precision Sampling <br /> Incorporated (Precision) of Richmond, California, as they advanced direct-push borings <br /> 3017 Kilgore Road, Suite 100, Rancho Cordova, CA 95670 916 861 0400 916 861 0430 Fax www secor com <br />
