Armour Petroleum Service and Equipment Corporation tank trucks and removed from <br /> the site <br /> During the removal and over-excavation of the gasoline USTs, the gravel backfill from <br /> ' the former waste oil UST excavation was removed and additional native soil was <br /> excavated In addition, the soil beneath the former oil drum storage area was <br /> ' excavated Confirmation soil samples were obtained from these areas (SW-1 , SW-3, <br /> SW-6, SW-7, and SW-8) and analyzed for total oil and grease The samples were all <br /> reported to contain less than 20 ppm total oil and grease These areas were <br /> excavated to a depth of approximately 10 feet bgs <br /> r <br /> 4.2 REMOVAL OF THE PRODUCT LINES <br /> r <br /> The product lines between the gasoline USTs and the pump islands were removed and <br /> confirmation soil samples (PL-5, PL-6, and PL-7) were obtained along the trench at <br /> the locations illustrated in Figure 3 The soil in the product line trenches was also <br /> visually inspected and field screened with the PID The field screening indicated that <br /> no releases had occurred along the product lines between the gasoline USTs and the <br /> pump islands Sample PL-7 was found to contain minor amounts of TPH-G and BTEX <br /> These results as well as the results of samples obtained near by during the preliminary <br /> site investigation (samples B-6 at 3 5 feet and B-7 at 3 5 feet and 9.0 feet) indicate <br /> ' that the level and extent of residual hydrocarbons in the soil in the area is minor In <br /> addition, the ratio of BTEX component concentrations (relatively low benzene to <br /> xylenes concentration ratio) found in sample PL-7 indicate that the gasoline is highly <br /> degraded <br /> ' <br /> 43 REMOVAL AND OVER-EXCAVATION OF THE PUMP ISLANDS <br /> 1 <br /> Samples obtained from the product line trenches adjacent to the pump islands <br />' indicated that a release had occurred in the vicinity of the pump islands Therefore, <br /> /"lttelhauser <br /> C O R P O R A T I 6 N <br /> P2188g0O8 wp{03184) 5 <br /> r <br />
