LODI,CALIFORNIA REPORT OF FINDINGS UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANK REMOVAL AT&T MICROWAVE RELAY FACILITY 90 WEST TURNER ROAD, LODI, CALIFORNIA ATC PROJECT NO. 61059.0029 1.0 INTRODUCTION ATC Associates Inc (ATC) has prepared this report to present the observations, conclusions, and recommendations for an underground storage tank (UST) removal project at the AT&T microwave relay facility located at 90 West Turner Road, Lodi, California (Figure 1) This report contains information pertaining to the removal and disposal of one 15,000-gallon steel diesel fuel UST and the associated piping AT&T contracted Kvaerner Industrial Constructors, Inc (Kvaerner) to remove and dispose of the UST ATC was contracted to provide environmental services related to soil sampling, and preparing the closure report • 2.0 BACKGROUND 21 Site Conditions The site is owned by AT&T and is a decommissioned nucrowave telecommunications relay facility One building exists near the center of the site with a microwave tower located to the north of the building The site is accessed by a gravel road along the east side of the building One 15,000-gallon UST was located adjacent to the northeast corner of the building The age of the UST was unknown The UST construction was single-wall steel with steel hold-down straps, and a concrete hold-down slab No piping was found In association with the UST AT&T reported that there had been no prior indication of UST product leaks before the removal 22 Geologic curd Hydrologic Conditions Excavation activities revealed that the UST was surrounded by pea gravel backfill material Native soil in the walls of the excavation consisted of brown silty fine sand Groundwater was not encountered at the base of the UST excavation • ATC Associates Inc 1 61059 0029
