kn KLEINFELDER
6 CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
1
6.1. CONCLUSIONS
Groundwater elevations ranged from a maximum of 0 42 feet above mean sea level
(msl) at MW-4 to a minimum of —0 58 feet below msl at MW-2 Depth to water was
measured at approximately 40 35 to 39 68 feet bgs Groundwater flow was calculated
to be southwest with an approximate gradient of 0 003 ft/ft
No product or sheen was observed from groundwater from perimeter monitoring wells
! MW-2, MW-3, and MW-4
None of the requested petroleum constituents were detected in the groundwater
samples collected from the down-gradient monitoring wells, MW-2 and MW-3, or in the
upgradient well MW-4
Based on the information obtained, It Is Kleinfelder's opinion that the groundwater
contaminant plume is located In the vicinity of MW-1 and the existing UST area, and is
apparently contained within perimeter monitoring wells MW-2, MW-3 and MW-4 A
petroleum product layer has been detected on the surface of groundwater in monitoring
well MWA from the third quarter 2002 to the second quarter 2005 quarterly sampling
events at thicknesses ranging from a film (<0 01 feet) to approximately 0 33 feet
(approximately 4 inches) During the third quarter of 2005 a product skimmer was
installed in MWA and therefore a groundwater sample was not collected from this well
Floating product was not detected In the initial five groundwater sampling events
beginning In June 2000 through June 2002
6.2. RECOMMENDATIONS
Based on the data obtained during this assessment, Kleinfelder makes the following
recommendations
1 Continue quarterly groundwater monitoring of the existing wells MW-2, MW-3, and
MW4 Kleinfelder is not recommending additional sampling of MWA while
product is still being noted and since a product skimmer has been installed
2 Kleinfelder recommends that a copy of this report be submitted to SJCIEHD and
the CVRWQCB for their review and comment
28209 T09/ST06R1601CD Iv Page 9 of 12
0 2006 Klewelder, Inc February 15, 2006
