4
" KLEINFELDER
r
6. CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
I 61. CONCLUSIONS
Groundwater elevations ranged from a maximum of 1 28 feet above mean sea level
(msl) at MW-4 to a minimum of —0 19 feet below msl at MW-2 Depth to water was
measured at approximately 39 86 to 38 82 feet bgs Groundwater flow was calculated
to be south by southwest with an approximate gradient of 0 005 ft/ft
No product or sheen was observed from groundwater from perimeter monitoring wells
MW-2, MW-3, and MW-4
None of the requested petroleum constituents were detected in the groundwater
samples collected from the down-gradient monitoring wells, MW-2 and MW-3, or in the
upgradient well MW-4
Based on the information obtained, It Is Klelnfelder's opinion that the groundwater
contaminant plume is located In the vicinity of MW-1 and the existing UST area, and Is
apparently contained within perimeter monitoring wells MW-2, MW-3 and MW4 A
petroleum product layer has been detected on the surface of groundwater in monitoring
well MW-1 over the last eleven quarterly sampling events at thicknesses ranging from a
film (<0 01 feet) to approximately 33 feet (4 Inches) During the third quarter of 2005 a
product skimmer was Installed In MW-1 and therefore a groundwater sample was not
collected from this well Floating product was not detected In the Initial five groundwater
sampling events beginning In June 2000 through June 2002
6 2 RECOMMENDATIONS
Based on the data obtained during this assessment, Kleinfelder makes the following
recommendations
1 Continue quarterly groundwater monitoring of the existing wells MW-2, MW-3, and
MW-4 Kleinfelder is not recommending additional sampling of MW-1 while
product is still being noted and since a product skimmer has been Installed
2 Kleinfelder recommends that a copy of this report be submitted to SJCIEHD and
the CVRWQCB for their review and comment
3 The purge water currently stored on-site should be evaluated and properly
disposed of by the Client Kleinfelder can assist the Client In the disposal process
at an additional charge if requested by the client
28209 T091ST05R14541DH Iv Page 9 of 12
©2005, Kleinfelder, Inc November 30, 2005
