KLEINFELDER 6 2 RECOMMENDATIONS ' Based on the data obtained during this assessment, Kleinfelder makes the following recommendations ' 1 Continue quarterly monitoring of the existing monitoring wells (MW-1, MW-2, MW-3, and MW-4) 2 Due to the continuing presence of floating product in MW-1, Kleinfelder recommends additional purging and removal of any product layer in MW-1 between quarterly sampling ' events 3 Kleinfelder recommends performing a limited pump test in monitoring well MW-1 to assess groundwater hydraulic properties such as draw-down, hydraulic conductivity and estimating a radius of influence to pumping This information would be useful in evaluating potential remedial efforts Kleinfelder recommends Initially purging any product layer from the well ' prior to conducting the pump test During the pump test, purge water should be filtered through a carbon filter media followed by containment Testing of the effluent is recommended to assess potential disposal options of the contained groundwater ' 4 Kleinfelder recommends that a copy of this report be submitted to San Joaquin County EHD and the CVRWQCB for their review and comment 5 The purge water currently stored on-site should be evaluated and properly disposed of by the Client Kleinfelder can assist the Client in the disposal process at an additional charge if requested by the client ' This report, and the conclusions and recommendations presented in this Executive Summary, are subject to the "Limitations" presented in Chapter 7 of this report Any other party (other than General Mills or regulatory agencies having enforcement jurisdiction for this site) who would ' like to use this report shall notify Kleinfelder, Inc of such intended use by executing the "Application for Authorization to Use" which is included as Appendix D to this report 1 1 ' 25209 T03/ST04R 157 Page 10 of]I ©2114 Klemfelder,Inc February 3,2004
