Enronmentai 9161638-2885
Consultants,Inc FAX 9161638 8385
December 13, 1993
Mr Wade Broughton
General Mills
Post Office Box 3002
Lodi, California 95241-1906
Subject Quarterly Monitoring Report, Third Quarter 1993
General Mills Facility
2000 West Turner Road
Lodi, California
Delta Project No 40-92-708
Dear Mr Broughton
Delta Environmental Consultants, Inc (Delta), has been authorized by General Mills Incorporated
(General Mills),to conduct a hydrogeologic investigation and assessment of the former underground fuel
oil tank location at the General Mills facility located at 2000 West Turner Road, Lodi, San Joaquin
County,California The location of the site is shown in Figure I and site features are shown in Figure 2
Introduction
This letter report presents the results of the most recent quarterly monitoring activities which consisted
of ground water table elevation measurements in the three existing ground water monitoring wells (MW-
1,MW-2,and MW-3) According to a letter from the San Joaquin County Department of Public Health
Services, Environmental Health Division, dated July 27, 1993, ground water sampling and chemical
analysis is only required on a semi-annual basis provided that no contaminants are detected Since
analytical results from the March 23, 1993 sampling event, displayed in Table 2, did not indicate the
presence of petroleum hydrocarbon constituents in any of the wells, sampling and chemical analysis was
not conducted during the November 10, 1993, monitoring event The next quarterly monitoring and
sampling is scheduled for December 1993
Ground Water Table Elevation Measurements
A total of three on-site monitoring wells were measured for depth to ground water on
September 10, 1993 (Figure 2) The ground water table was measured at the site between approximately
39 65 and 39 80 feet below the surface Ground water table measurements recorded to date are compiled
in Table I Ground water table measurements collected on September 10, 1993,were used to construct
the water table contour map shown in Figure 3 Currently the inferred direction of ground water flow
is toward the south-southwest with a hydraulic gradient of approximately 0 003
Discussion
Current ground water elevation measurements indicate that the ground water elevation beneath the site
has decreased approximately 0 25 feet between March 1993 and September 1993 The decreased ground
water elevation is probably attributed to the decrease in rainfall over this time period
Delta Delivers Solutions 0061
