Mr. Wade Broughton 3
r October 16, 1992
. Page 2
{
Ground Water Analysis
Ground water samples were collected from monitoring wells MW-1 through MW-3 on
September 17, 1992. These samples were submitted to a State-certified laboratory Y for analysis of
benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, xylenes(BTEX), and total petroleum hydrocarbons ('TPH)as diesel.
Dissolved benzene or TPH as diesel were not detected in ground water samples collected from
monitoring wells MW-1, MW-2 and MW-3. Analytical results of ground water samples collected
on September 17, 1992, are compiled in Table 2. Sampling information sheets and laboratory reports
for the September sampling event are included in Enclosures B and C, respectively.
K
Discussion kk+
iy
Laboratory results of ground water samples collected from monitoring wells MW-1, MW-2, and
E, MW-3, located cross-gradient and down-gradient of the former fuel oil storage tank location were
not found to contain petroleum hydrocarbon constituent's. There is no evidence that ground water
has been impacted by petroleum hydrocarbons. The next quarterly ground water monitoring event !
is scheduled for December 1992.
It is recommended that copies of this letter report be forwarded to the following agencies:
Ms. Elizabeth Thayer Ms. Laurie A.
