June 22 , 1992 <br /> Diane Hinson <br /> San Joaquin County Puziic Health Services <br /> P O Bax 2009 <br /> Stockton , CA 95201 <br /> RE 4614 W Tarner Rd , Loci <br /> QUARTERLY GROUNDWATER 140NITORING AND SAMPLING REVIEW <br /> 199'_-1992 <br /> Dear Diane , <br /> The following is a summary of groundwater sampling and analyses at <br /> the above reference facility ( Figure 1 ) This summary will also be <br /> forwarded to the Cen:ral Valley Regional Water Quality Control <br /> Board, in care of Beth Thayer , for her review <br /> Tnis report covers 5 auarter, i samplings . 4/11/ 91 , 7/19/91 , <br /> 10/ 25/ 91 , 1/ 24/ 92 , ana 5 / 1/ 92 <br /> tiro ect History <br /> A 550 gallon underground gasoline tank was removed from the site in <br /> Novemner , 1988 SO! - samples collected from the tank pit indicated <br /> the presence of petro; eurz hydrocarbons Efcavation of hydrocarbon <br /> bearing soil was initiated to a depth of 18 5 feet below grade at <br /> wnicn depth groundwater was encountered Findings of the tank <br /> removal ana excavation have neer presented in previous reports <br /> Following the initial e.�cavation , 15 soil borings were drilled by <br /> McLaren between May 15 and Jure 2 , 1989 Laboratory results of <br /> soil analyses determined the presence of petroleum hydrocarbons in <br /> concentrations exceeding 100 mg/kg in the area surrounding the tank <br /> eAcavation After completion , 10 of zne borings were converted to <br /> groundwater monitoring wells ( Figure 2 ) Initial sampling of the <br /> wells indicated the presence of benzene in concentrations above the <br /> DHS Maximum Contaminant Levels (MCL ' s ) for drinking water in three <br /> of the wells <br /> Groundwater Monitorirq ana Samplinc <br /> RESNA industries ( -crTerly WaterWork ) conducted the groundwater <br /> samplings at the facility cn the 4/11/ 91 , 7/19/ 91 , 14/25/91 , and <br /> 1/24/ 92 CalTest Analytical Laws conducted the groundwater <br /> s amp I i n g s on 5,x _/ 9- The results of our findings are summarizea in <br /> the fol ? owing sections Harr COPY of the laooratory reports are <br /> presented in Attacnmert ' - <br /> -hcni �or'_ng l :e ae _ � s� _ <br />
