QUARTERLY GROUNDWATER MONITORING AND SAMPLING REVIEW
QUARTERLY GTS MONITORING AND SAMPLING REVIEW
4614 W TURNER RD. , LODI
PAGE 3
Summar_
MW-6 continues to show no contaminants , as it has for most of the
history of the pro]ect . Trace amounts of T,E, and X were last
detected in October of 1992 .
MW-7 continues to show no contaminants , as it has for the entire
history of the project (except for 100 ppb TPHg in January of
1992)
MW-3 once again showed no contaminants , as it has for three out
of the last four samplings in the last year.
MW 3 early in the monitoring program consistently showed low
levels of contaminants , with a downward trend The current
results of no contaminants suggest that the plume is retreating
The current results also suggest that the rising water table in
1993 did not pick up contaminants in the soil Therefore, the
retreat of the plume is not likely to reverse itself
MW-1 (currently the extraction well providing the influent to the
GTS) is closest to the site of the former underground tank, and
has up to this time consistently shown the highest levels of
contaminants This well has also shown a continuing downward
trend in contaminants , especially since the installation of the
GTS The current levels of contaminants , although a fraction of
the amounts detected prior to the installation of the GTS , are
the highest measurements since the installation of the GTS 18
months ago . It is possible that as the groundwater level has
retreated two feet in the last few months , slightly higher
concentrations of contaminants have been picked up in the soil .
We will need further quarterly testing to confirm that low to
non-detect level of contaminants continues to be a long term
condition.
Effluent from the GTS continues to show no traces of
contaminants
The next quarterly sampling will occur in August , 1994 At that
time , GTS influent and effluent will be tested. MW 3 , 4 , and 5
will be measured for water levels to provide sufficient
information to calculate a gradient
I
