CALIF CONTRACMk-#513157 E r,111 - 5 1 FAX(530)662-0273 <br /> EREGISTERED GEOLOGISTS wege@mother com <br /> WORKPLAN FOR THE INSTALLATION <br /> OF GROUNDWATER MONITORING WELLS AT <br /> ARC PUMP AND WELDING, 1211 SOUTH TURNPIKE RD. <br /> STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA <br /> SEPTEMBER 28, 1999 <br /> PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF THE WORKPLAN <br /> Western Geo-Engineers (WEGE) was contracted by Mr Robert Fowler, owner of Arc <br /> Pump and Welding, to construct a workplan to further define the vertical and lateral <br /> extent of gasoline constituents in the soil and groundwater at 1211 South Turnpike Road, <br /> Stockton, CA The San Joaquin County Environmental Health Division (SJCEHD) <br /> requested the preparation of the workplan in a letter dated August 24, 1999 (see <br /> SAppendix A) <br /> SITE LOCATION AND DESCRIPTION <br /> The site address is 1211 So Turnpike Road, Stockton, CA The 0 33 parcel is located at <br /> the northeastern corner of the intersection of Commerce Street and So Turnpike Road in <br /> an area zoned for light manufacturing and industrial use (Figure 1) The property is <br /> located in projected Section 14, TIN, R6E, of the MDB&M at approximately 12 feet <br /> above mean sea level (Figure 2) <br /> The property owner has installed three groundwater monitoring wells in the course of <br /> investigating the soil and groundwater conditions at the site <br /> LOCAL GEOLOGY AND HYDRO—GEOLOGY <br /> The site is located on surface soils belonging to the Stockton Adobe Clay series These <br /> soils are derived from Recent alluvial fan and floodplain deposits The 50 feet of <br /> explored section at the site consisted of light brown silty clay with lenses of sandy clays <br /> and silts These coarser lenses were encountered between 20 and 30 feet bgs The bottom <br /> 20 feet (30-50 feet bgs) in each of the monitor well borings consisted of a sticky blue <br /> is clay <br />
