I Hunter & Associates t , ; , ��� 2220 Loma Vista Dr <br /> Registered Geologists Sacramento, CA 95825 <br /> Petroleum &Mineral Appraisers - (916) 972-7941 <br /> FAX (916) 972-1683 <br /> 3 <br /> November 19, 1997 = ` <br /> Ron Rowe, Sr REHS <br /> San Joaquin County PHS <br /> Environmental Health Division <br /> P O Box 388 <br /> Stockton, CA 95201-0388 <br /> RE: Third Quarter 1997 Groundwater Monitoring Report for ARC Pump & <br /> Welding, 1211 So, Turnpike Road, Stockton - Site Code 1788 <br /> We are enclosing a copy of the field report, laboratory results of water analyses, and maps <br /> showing the hydraulic gradient and lines of equal concentration of benzene, ethylbenzene, <br /> toluene, xylene, and TPHg based upon the latest data The field work conducted on <br /> September 9, 1997 by Del-Tech Geotechnical Support Services as directed by the San <br /> Joaquin Co EHD Because of scheduling & reimbursement problems, there was no <br /> second quarter sampling performed <br /> The attached PLATE I shows the hydraulic gradient based on the latest sampling, it <br /> continues to be to the northeast at about 002'/ft (10 57mile ) The direction has been <br /> extremely stable since monitoring began The water table has dropped slightly over one <br /> foot since the March event <br /> The results of water analyses taken since monitoring began are summarized on TABLE I <br /> MW-1, which is upgradient from the removed UST, continues to measure the highest <br /> levels of benzene, ethylbenzene, and xylene Toluene and TPHg concentrations were <br /> slightly higher in MW-2, which is downgradient from the removed UST MTBE was <br /> detected only in MW-1 & MW-3 DIPE, TAME, & ETBE were below detection levels in <br /> all three wells <br /> PLATES H thru VI show lines of equal concentrations of BTEX & TPHg based upon <br /> this latest sampling Concentrations of benzene, ethylbenzene, xylene, & TPHg increase in <br /> the upgradient direction, which agrees with prior results Toluene levels increase very <br /> slightly in the downgradient direction, a reversal from the last sampling Data collected to <br /> date reveals that the lateral limits of the plume have not been defined in any direction On <br /> November 17, 1995, we submitted a workplan to place eight (8) shallow geoprobe holes <br /> on and around the property in an attempt to better identify other possible sources of <br /> contamination To date, we have not received a response to that workplan <br /> Quarterly monitoring will continue until further notice <br /> r <br /> ���C_D GE' <br /> W <br /> tYR�,cites �cc WQWILUAL11 J HUI'ER <br /> R Fowler ,crta ii/Aram <br /> NO 8150 <br /> STA OF CA1�F `va <br />
