The groundwater in the vicinity of the site is unconfined Groundwater elevation at the
site varies from a wet year high of 25 feet bgs to at least 50 feet bgs during the previous
drought period Groundwater flow direction at the site has varied from north to south
through the northeast and southeast quadrants
QUARTERLY GROUNDWATER MONITORING, 318105
WEGE collected quarterly groundwater samples from the four monitor wells at the site
on March 8, 2005 See Appendix A for QA/QC, details, methods, procedures,
abbreviations, and acronyms used in sampling and analysis See Appendix B for copies
of the field data sheets
DEPTH TO WATER MEASUREMENTS
WEGE measured depth to water in all four wells on March 8, 2005 The measurements
were made from the surveyed elevation datum at the top of casing at each well using an
electrical air/water interface probe (Table 1) No free product or product sheen was
observed in any of the monitor wells
COLLECTION AND CERTIFIED ANALYSIS OF GROUNDWATER SAMPLES
Following depth to water measurements, WEGE purged approximately three well
volumes of water from each monitor well using a truck mounted submersible 2"
Grundfoss pump and disposable one half inch diameter PVC tubing An in-line cell
equipped with a Hanna pH, temperature, and conductivity probe and meter was used to
measure water quality parameters at one minute intervals during the well purging A
calibrated flow meter was placed between the in-line cell and waste water tank to
measure the rate and total volume of water purged from each well The volume of water
purged from each well was noted on the field data sheets (see Appendix B)
Purging rates were maintained at less than one gallon/minute so that drawdown in the
well did not exceed 20% of the original well volume A groundwater sample was then
collected by severing the PVC tubing at a point between the Grundfoss pump and in-line
cell while the pump continued to run and decanting the groundwater into three 40 ml
VOA vials containing 0 5 ml HCL acid as a preservative
The samples were delivered with accompanying chain of custody documentation to Kiff
Analytical Laboratories (DHS Certification 92236) The certified laboratory analyzed the
groundwater samples from each monitor well for concentrations of TPH-G, BTEX,
MTBE, ETBE, DIPE, TBA, TAME, 1,2-Dichroloetbane, and 1,2-Dibromoethane using
EPA method 8260B
2 Are Pump QM 1-3, 2005
