GROUNDWATER GRADIENT AND FLOW DIRECTION
Figure 4 shows the groundwater elevation gradient and flow direction determined from
depth to water measurements at three of the four on-site monitor wells on December 12,
2001 Monitoring well MW4 is completed between 70 and 80 feet bgs and was not used
to determine the flow direction and gradient of the uppermost aquifer that was measured
by MW1-MW3 The groundwater elevation has decreased by an average of 1 26 feet
since the previous quarterly monitoring round on August 21, 2001 The flow direction is
to the northeast The overall gradrent is 0 002 feet/linear foot
RESULTS OF CERTIFIED ANALYSIS OF GROUNDWATER SAMPLES
The results of the certified analyses of groundwater samples collected from the four
monitor wells on December 12, 2001 are shown in Table I Copies of the laboratory
reports are included as Appendix C of this report
TPH-G concentrations in MW 1-MW3 ranged from a maximum of 13000 ug/1 at monitor
well MW I to 1600 ug/1 at monitor well MW2 Monitor well MW4, completed in a lower
aquifer, showed a TPH-G concentration of 360 ug/1
Benzene concentrations in MW I-MW3 ranged from a maximum of 4300 ug/l at MW 1 to
290 ug/1 at MW2 Monitor well MW4 showed a benzene concentration of 7 ug/l
MTBE concentrations in MW I-MW3 ranged from a maximum of 35 ug/1 at MW3 to 6 9
ug/l at MW2 MTBE was not detected above 0 5 ug/1 in MW4
Figure 5 shows the distribution of TPH-G, BTEX, and MTBE in groundwater and the
estimated lateral limits of the TPH-G in groundwater as determined from groundwater
samples collected on December 12, 2001
RECOMMENDATIONS
■ Coordinate collection of First Quarter 2002 groundwater data at 1211 S Turnpike Rd
with Advanced Geo Environmental (AGE'S ) First Quarter 2002 Groundwater
Monitoring round at 1201 S Center Street
■ Review AGE's report of results from the installation of CPT testholes at 1201 S
Center and prepare workplan for installation of additional offsite wells
3
1
3 Arc Pump QM 10-12, 2001
