i <br />' GROUND-WATER MONITORING <br /> AND WELL ABANDONMENT REPORT <br /> ICarmen Punla Property <br /> 1587 French Camp Turnpike <br />' Stockton, California 95201 <br />' INTRODUCTION <br /> This Proect Status Re ort of Ground-Water Monitorm was conducted in accordance with the <br />' directives of the Environmental Health Division of San Joaquin County Public Health Services <br /> Department (SJCPHS-EHD) It includes a background assessment history, ground-water <br /> sounding and flow direction/gradient data, and laboratory analytical results for ground-water <br />' samples collected on April 2, 1996 Composite soil-stockpile sampling was undertaken when <br /> the three monitoring wells were abandoned on April 4, 1996 <br />' Site Setting <br /> The property is located at 1587 French Camp Turnpike in Stockton, San Joaquin County, <br />' California and is situated near downtown Stockton as shown on the Vicinity Map, Figure 1 The <br /> site was once a former diesel-filling station Adjacent to the site are Edison High School, the <br /> City of Stockton Corporation Yard, and neighboring commercial businesses and residences within <br /> a primarily industrial area <br /> Geologic Setting <br /> The approximate surface elevation of the site is ten feet above Mean Sea Level (AMSL) It is <br /> located near the geographic center of the Great Valley Geomorphic Province The northern half <br /> of the province is the Sacramento Valley, bordered on the north by the Klamath Mountains, on <br /> the east by the Sierra Nevada, on the west by the Northern Coast Range, and on the south by <br />' the Stockton fault <br /> The southern half of the Great Valley Geomorphic Province is the San Joaquin Valley, bordered <br />' on the north by the Stockton fault, on the east by the Sierra Nevada Range, on the west by the <br /> Southern Coast Range, and on the south by the Transverse Ranges The site is located <br /> approximately 112 mile north of the interpreted, apparent location of the Stockton fault The <br />' surface trace of the Stockton fault is unseen and has long been erased by erosion <br /> The site is underlain by Quaternary basin and fan deposits, arkosic alluvium of the Modesto- <br /> Riverbank Formation The Modesto-Riverbank Formation overlies Quaternary sand, silt, and <br /> gravel of the Turlock Lake Formation <br />' W W Irmn, Inc <br /> Projects 33236 00&33236 01 <br /> Apnl 1996 1 <br />
