07 July 1997
AGE-NC Project No 95-0141
MTBE was not detected in a ground water samples collected from wells NfW-1 through 1\4W-5 The
analytical results for ground water samples are summarized in Table 2 -Analytical Results of G7 01111d
Water Samples The laboratory report (Castle Analytical Laboratory Reference No 113 1) and chain-
of-custody forms are included in Appendix B
40 CONCLUSIONS/SUMMARY
• Locally, ground water monitoring data in the area of MW-I through N W-3 suggested that
ground water flow direction was toward the north, northeast and northwest In the area of
MW-1 through MW-3, ground water elevation contours appear to have a donned
configuration
• Ground water monitoring data in the area of MW-4 and MW-5 suggest that ground water
flow direction was toward the northwest
• Concentrations of benzene detected in MW-1 through MW-4 exceeded the State of California
Maximum Contaminant Levels (MCLS) for drinking water of 1 0 ggll
• Concentrations of toluene detected in MW-1 and MW-3 exceeded the State of California
MCLs for drinking water of 1501cgll
• Concentrations of xylenes detected in MW-1 exceeded the State of California MCLS for
drinking water of 1,750 pgll
• MTBE does not appear to be present at the site at concentrations exceeding the analytical
method reporting limits
• Ground water at the site is between 5 40 to 7 42 feet above the slotted sci eened intervals in
wells MW-1 through MW-5 Therefore, samples collected from these wells may not be
representative of shallower ground water conditions at the site
• Based on the ground water data collected to date, there does not appear to be a consistent
relationship between ground water depth/elevation and hydrocarbon concentrations
50 LIMITATIONS
Our professional services were performed using that degree of care and skill ordinarily exercised by
environmental consultants practicing in this or similar localities The f ndrngs were based upon
analytical results provided by an independent laboratory Evaluations of the hydrogeologic conditions
at the site for the purpose of this investigation were made from a limited number of available data
' points (i e monitoring wells samples), and subsurface conditions may vary away from these data
points No other warranty, expressed or implied, is made as to the professional recommendations
' contained in this report
I
