iCONCLUSION
Laboratory analyses of the latest set of water samples from MW-4 and MW-5 indicate that the
local groundwater beneath the former asphalt plant has not been affected by the petroleum
contamination found in the upper surface soil layers during the installation of the wells This
finding supports the results of the previous sets of water samples analyzed by STL in February
and July 2003 Analysis of the water sample from MW-6, the well installed on the other side of
the arroyo, however, appears to indicate that petroleum contamination may have contacted the
groundwater in that location RMC will continue to monitor the water in both locations in an
effort to better understand the conditions that exist in the subsurface
•
