All violations must be corrected within specified timeframe. Violations that are classified as"MAJOR"pose an immediate threat to public health <br /> and must be corrected immediately or be subject to closure pursuant to California Code of Regulations(Title 22)section 65545. <br /> #1 Pool Gates <br /> OBSERVATIONS:Gate is not self-closing. Gates and doors shall be equipped with self-closing and self-latching devices. <br /> Correct immediately. <br /> CALCODE DESCRIPTION:Gates and doors leading into the pool area shall be equipped with self-closing self-latching devices. <br /> Self-latching devices shall be designed to keep the gate or door securely closed. Gates and doors shall open outward from the pool area <br /> except where otherwise prohibited by law. (CBC 31198) Pool operator shall keep gates and doors leading into the pool area well <br /> maintained. (CCR 65535) <br /> #8 Pool and Deck Lighting <br /> OBSERVATIONS:The underwater light is not functioning. Repair/replace this underwater light prior to opening for public, <br /> or post a sign in 4-inch letters stating "NO USE OF POOL ALLOWED AFTER DARK"and secure the pool area and not <br /> permit any use of the pool after dark. <br /> CALCODE DESCRIPTION:Pools used at night shall be equipped with underwater light fixtures that provide complete illumination of the <br /> pool. When a pool is used at night,pool deck and emergency egress areas shall be provided with lighting. If underwater or deck lighting is <br /> not operational, the pool operator shall post a sign in 4-inch letters stating"NO USE OF POOL ALLOWED AFTER DARK"and shall <br /> secure the pool area and not permit any use of the pool after dark. (31158) <br /> #37 Electrical Hazards <br /> OBSERVATIONS:The ground-fault circuit interrupter cannot be tested due the inoperable light.Test the ground-fault circuit <br /> interrupter immediately after the light is repaired or replaced. <br /> CALCODE DESCRIPTION:Electrical equipment installed in the water, walls, deck, or equipment room of a public pool shall comply with <br /> California Electrical Code. (CEC 680.4)Light fixtures installed in the pool that operate at more than 15 volts shall be protected by a ground <br /> fault circuit interrupter.
