Adopt by reference the Negative Declaration prepared
for TA-87-8 (Miscellaneous Text Amendments ) ; and
2 . Approve Planning Title Text Amendment TA-86-2 based on
the Bases for Recommendation given in the staff report.
REASON FOR RECOMMENDATION:
Proposed revisions to the fence regulations have been proposed
to eliminate, reduce or simplify current minimums . The revi-
sions in this text amendment modify requirements in
Agricultural and Residential zones only. Proposed changes
were first discussed at a general public information meeting
last summer. The Planning Commission then appointed a fence
subcommittee which met on several occasions and developed the
amendments summarized in Attachment I. These changes were
presented to the full Planning Commission at a hearing on
August 20th, 1987. It was subsequently continued so that the
fence subcommittee could reconvene and consider inclusion of
several revisions presented at that hearing. The subcommittee
met on October 13th and recommended two additional revisions.
On November 5 , 1987 the Planning Commission reheard and, by a
vote of 7-0, adopted the proposed text amendment which incor-
porated these revisions .
An expanded mailing list had been established during the
evaluation of the amendments and all persons were notified of
any hearings.
I r -) '.fit•', .,j- ; ` 1
Ila,t.` :tj1
BOS LETTER PAGE 1 f tO'V 2 19$7
ENVIROMENTAL HEALTH
-\PERMIT/SERVICES,
