GP-93-3 AND ZONE RECLASSIFICATION
APPLICATION NO. 93-4 OF THE SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
DEPARTMENT (APPLICABLE COUNTYWIDE)
IT IS RECOMMENDED:
That the Board of Supervisors:
1. Approve the Negative Declaration; and
2. Approve General Plan Map Amendment Application No. GP-93-3 based upon the'Basis
for General Plan Amendment' contained in the staff report.
3. Approve Zone Reclassification Application No. ZR-93-4 based upon the 'Bases for Zone
Reclassification' contained in the staff report.
BACKGROUND:
These General Plan Map Amendments and Zone Reclassifications are the third set of adjustments to
correct minor mapping errors and omissions in the General Plan 2010 and zoning maps. Each application
contains several changes to either the General Plan maps or the zoning maps.
The Planning Commission heard this matter at its meeting of June 3, 1993. Five people, representing the
five of the nine areas involved in the applications, spoke in favor of the staff recommendation. Howard
Seligman, representing Rhodes Bean and Supply (listing No. SJ008), asked that the zone reclassification
of this property be continued until a full Planning Commission was present.
The Commission voted 5-0 to approve the Negative Declaration and forward General Plan Map
Amendment Application No. GP-93 3 and Zone Reclassification Application No. ZR-93-4 (except listing
No. SJ008) to the Board of Supervisors with a recommendation for approval based upon the bases for
amendment and reclassification in the staff report.
The zone reclassification portion of listing No. SJO08 (Rhodes Bean and Supply) was continued to June
17, 1993 and heard by the Commission at that time. Mr.Seligman requested that the property be zoned
Limited Industrial (I-L) rather than I-W (Warehouse Industrial) and concurred with a condition to the I-L
zone, proposed by the Environmental Health Division, to limit any new use to generation of domestic
wastes only.
