(iii) Turf areas which exceed 2500 square feet are required to use <br /> soil moisture sensors and rain shutoff devices as a part of any <br /> automatic irrigation system. <br /> (iv) Turf shall not be installed within ten (10) feet of the dripline of <br /> native oak trees. <br /> (v) Turf shall be of a variety well suited to the local climate. <br /> (F) Mulch. A minimum of three (3) inches of an organic mulch shall be <br /> placed in shrub areas on the soil surface after planting. Non-porous <br /> materials shall not be placed under the mulch. <br /> (4) Earth Berms. Earth berms shall comply with the following provisions: <br /> (A) An earth berm may contribute toward the prescribed height of any <br /> planting, fencing, or wall; and <br /> (B) Mounds of earth which are used to screen or for planting shall not <br /> maintain a slope greater than two to one (2:1). <br /> (5) Irrigation. Irrigation systems shall be installed for all landscaped areas as <br /> follows: <br /> (A) Soil types and infiltration rates shall be considered when designing <br /> Irrigation systems. All Irrigation systems shall be designed to avoid <br /> runoff, low head drainage, overspray, or similar conditions where <br /> water flows onto adjacent property, non-irrigated areas, walks, <br /> roadways, or structures. <br /> (B) No overhead sprinkler irrigations systems (pop-up, impulse <br /> sprinklers, rotors) shall be Installed in median strips less than ten feet <br /> wide. <br /> SECTION 18. Section 9-1020.3, Chapter 9-1020, Division 10, Title 9, of the San Joaquin <br /> County Ordinance Code is hereby amended by amending subsection (b) and (f) to read as follows: <br /> Section 9-1020.3 Screening Standards. All screening required by this Chapter shall comply <br /> with the provisions of this Section. <br /> (b) Screening Materials. Screening materials of corrugated plastic or iron, steel, <br /> aluminum,asbestos,wood (excluding wood In combination with masonry), or security <br /> chain-link fencing are specifically prohibited. Security chain-link fencing may be <br /> permitted for Industrial projects if combined with aesthetic treatment acceptable to <br /> the Review Authority. Barbed wire Is not permitted. <br /> (f) Special Screening Requirements. <br /> (4) Levees. <br /> (A) Any fence next to a levee shall conform to the requirements of <br /> Section 9-1605.18 of this Title; <br /> —8— <br />
