RFECREATION <br /> qJ <br /> To provide opportunities for a variety of recreational activities ; <br /> to conserve and develop the recreational potential of the County; <br /> and to encourage and promote recreation as a major industry <br /> in the County. <br /> G UrA/ <br /> -To meet the needs for both active and passive recreation for <br /> persons of all ages . <br /> -To provide a system of parks, open space, and recreation areas <br /> for: <br /> a . the preservation of unusual physical features and <br /> historical sites and buildings, <br /> b. the promotion of health and well-being through <br /> opportunities for leisure time activities, <br /> C. the conservation of natural resources . <br /> -To assure the preservation of the Delta and the opportunity for <br /> the public to know and enjoy this unusual recreation resource. <br /> -To coordinate recreational development in the County by public <br /> and private agencies and to support sound development. <br /> RECREATION <br /> 1 . The County parks and recreation services and facilities will be <br /> coordinated with and will supplement or complement: <br /> a . the locally provided neighborhood and community parks; <br /> b. the large parks and special recreation facilities of <br /> County-wide or state-wide significance provided by city, <br /> state, or federal programs; and <br /> C. the recreation areas and facilities provided by semi- <br /> public agencies or private individuals. <br /> 2. Private developers will be encouraged to provide the commercial <br /> forms of recreation facilities or services either as concessionaires <br /> in public recreation areas or as private establishments. <br /> 23 <br />
