Water - both ground water quality arid quantity issues
should be addressed. Area wells have been impacted by
chemicals such as nitrates , iron, manganese as well as
total dissolved solids . Existing farming practices
have the potential of impacting ground water with
organic chemicals . San Joaquin County is also
subjected to ground water overdrafting . It should be
determined what this impact could potentially be .
Existing wells cannot be considered as provers.
2 . Sewage Disposal - the operation of a sewage disposal
system should be addressed. Their are various state
and local regulations existing concerning effluent and
sludge disposal and installation and maintenance of
disposal systems .
3 . Agricultural Operations - this project is surrounded on
all sides by intensive agricultural operations
including row crops , field crops and orchards . The
impacts to and from agricultural operations should be
addressed in detail including realistic mitigation
measures .
A Division of San Joaquin County Health Care Services
