Me Mary Meays
01 San Joaquin County Public Health Services
May 8, 1992
Laboratory Analysis
Groundwater samples were analyzed for benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, xylenes (BTEX), and
total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHG), by EPA methods 8020 and modified 8015,
respectively Laboratory analyses detected elevated concentrations of petroleum hydrocarbons
in the samples collected from wells MW2, MW3, and MW4 Well MW5 contained 95 ppb total
petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline, however no volatile constituents were detected The
analytical results are summarized in Table 2 The laboratory data sheets and chain-of-custody
documentation are presented in Attachment 2
The lateral extent of the dissolved contaminant plume associated with the former underground
fuel storage tank has been essentially defined, except in the vicinity of well MW4, north of the
former tank With only two rounds of groundwater samples collected from this well, it is
unclear whether contamination at MW4 can be attributed to the former tank or from a potential
off-site contributing source. In accordance with the San Joaquin County Public Health /Services
request, groundwater beneath the site will continue to be monitored on a quarterly basis
Recommendations, if appropriate, will be presented in quarterly monitoring reports The next
sampling event should be completed by June 30, 1992, and the subsequent monitoring report
submitted by July 31, 1992
If you have any questions regarding this project, please contact John Lane at our Escalon office
(209) 838-3507
Respectfully,
RESNA Industries
2 n P Lane
Project Geologist
Gregory P Stahl
CA Registered Geologist No 5023
ATTACHMENTS Table 1 Summary of Groundwater Monitoring
Table 2 Summary of Laboratory Analysis
Figure 1 Groundwater Gradient (03/04/92)
Figure 2 Groundwater Gradient (03/16/92)
Attachment 1 Well Purge Logs
Attachment 2: Lab Data Sheets and Chain of Custody
pc.
