Batteries are returned to East Penn Manufacturing Co for reclamation. Accroding to facility personnel <br /> roughly 30 batteries a month are picked up by East Penn. <br /> REGULATION GUIDANCE: <br /> (A) The generator shall use either the manifest or a bill of lading which fulfills the requirements of Title 13 CCR <br /> section 1161, to record the shipment of spent lead-acid storage batteries to a person who stores the batteries or <br /> who uses, reuses, recycles or reclaims the batteries or their components. <br /> (B) The generator shall retain, at the generator's place of business for at least three years, a legible copy of each <br /> manifest or bill of lading which identifies spent lead-acid storage batteries shipped to a person who stores the <br /> batteries or who uses, reuses, recycles or reclaims the batteries or their components. <br /> CORRECTIVE ACTION: Provide copies of battery core bill of lading records and a corrective action statement to <br /> the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department within 30 days. <br /> This is a Class II violation. <br /> Overall Inspection Comments: <br /> Complete and submit a copy of the Return to Compliance Certification form to the EHD with a statement <br /> documenting the corrective actions that have been or will be taken for each violation, and any supporting <br /> paperwork, by October 12, 2019 . <br /> Starting September 1, 2018, all in-office CERS help will be provided at EHD hourly rate ($152).
