SUMIDEN WIRE PRODUCTS CORPORATION JOB DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE: PC DRAWING MACHINE OPERATOR EXEMPT: No SALARY LEVEL: HOURLY SHIFT: AS ASSIGNED LOCATION: STOCKTON EMPLOYEE: REPORTS TO: SHIFT SUPERVISOR PREPARED BY: WAYNE MANNOR DATE: 6-12-96 APPROVED BY: WILLIAM PALMER REVISED:by wm DATE: 8-7-06 SUMMARY Operates and Tends, one or more High Carbon Steel, Wire Drawing Machines, to convert High Carbon Steel Rod into High Carbon Steel Componant or finished size Wire. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Including the following, however, other duties may be assigned at the companies requirement needs change- SAFETY - QUALITY - COST - DELIVERY Employee must follow the Code of Safe Practices and all Company Rules. Wear Safety Glasses, Safety Toe Shoes, Gloves, Ear Protection, and all other safety gear that may be required. Uses Resistance Welder Machine, &(BUTT) Welds Rod to make endless coil on Pay-Off Stand. Operates Overhead Bridge Crane, Drawing Machine, Butt Welder, Bench Vice, Hand and Electric Grinders, Pointing Machine, Cut-Off Saw, Pneumatic Polisher. Uses Bolt Cutters, Wire Straightening Bar, Adjustable Wrench, Hammer, Pneumatic Die Wrench and Micrometer. Makes Points on Rod with Pointing Machine in preperation to thread wire through drawing dies, Adjusts Path-Line of wire, or turns valves to adjust water flows, air pressure and adjusts rollers, Threads material between rollers and through Dry Lube Boxes and Drawing Dies. Follow Standard Operating Procedures and Quality Standards to produce only the highest quality Wire. Starts machine and moves controls to adjust speed, and tension of material between blocks or height of wire on blocks and always keep safety guards in place. Observes wire as it passes through machine to prevent damaging of wire for lack of lube or cooling or other unusual conditions.
