1H KLE INFELDER & ASSOCIATES
SAMPLE ANALYSES
Eight soil samples were submitted for chemical analyses to Chemwest
Analytical Laboratories under chain-of-custody procedures on May 14,
' 1987. The samples were analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbons by
GC-FID extraction and for benzene, toluene, and xylene by EPA method 8020.
Analytical results were received on the afternoon of May 20, 1987. These
' results are summarized on Table 3. The results of analysis of samples
SS-03, SS-04, SS-06, and SS-07 (collected from the excavation) show no
detectable levels of benzene, toluene or xylenes, and non-detectable or
very low levels of total petroleum hydrocarbons.
Several samples collected from the soil pile show levels of total
' petroleum hydrocarbons of potential concern.
These results appear to indicate that the contaminated soil has been
excavated to non--detectable or low levels. The soil pile does contain
hydrocarbon constituents at levels of potential concern.
if you have any questions about the sample results, please contact myself
or Kent Zenobia. Thank you.
Sincerely,
' J-H. KLEiNFELDER & ASSOCIATES
r
effreyF. dlow
' Assis t Geologist
' Kent E.
