We have tentatively <br /> scheduled abandonment procedures to commence on 13 August 1997. <br /> INTROD UCTION/BACKG ROUND <br /> Three 2-inch diameter ground water tnoniloring wells were installed as part of a subsurface <br /> investigation ofthe former underground storage tank (UST) area at the site. The location of the site <br /> is illustrated in Figure 1 - Location Map.Each monitoring well was installed to a depth of <br /> approximately 30 feet below surface grade(bsg). In accordance with the San Joaquin County Public <br /> Health Service - Environmental Health Division (PHS-EIID) letter dated 17 July 1997, all three <br /> monitoring wells at a 1153 Vanderbilt Circle must be properly abandoned to obtain final conditional <br /> site closure. Ground Nvater monitoring well locations are.'illustrated on Figure 2 -Site Plan. <br /> PROCEDURES <br /> In preparation for abandonment, each well cover box or monument cover will be removed. Each well <br /> will be filled with grout; a pressure will be applied to each well for approximately five minutes to <br /> ensure grout penetration into the filter pack.
