' PRELIMINARY INVESTIGATION AND EVALUATION REPORT <br /> Cal West Concrete Cutting <br />' 1153 Vanderbilt Circle <br /> Manteca, CA <br />' January 1995 <br />' 1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> In accordance with a request from Mr Brick Joseph of Cal-West Concrete Cutting, <br /> Geological Audit Services, Inc (GeoAudit) has drilled two soil bonngs at 1153 Vanderbilt <br /> Circle in Manteca, California (the site) The borings were completed as 2-inch groundwater <br /> monitoring wells. Groundwater samples were then collected from the monitoring wells The <br /> purpose of the investigation was to assess the extent of impacted soil and groundwater at <br /> the site This report describes the activities performed in January 1995 and presents the <br />' results of these investigations The location of the site is illustrated in Figure 1 A plan of <br /> the site is illustrated in Figure 2. <br /> 2.0 BACKGROUND <br />' 2.1 Site Location <br /> Cal-West Concrete Cutting is located in an industrial park in central Manteca, California <br />' (Figure 1) The site is occupied by a single building that is the office/warehouse A small <br /> storage shed is also located on the property A municipal well is located on the property <br /> immediately west of the site. <br /> 2.2 Underground Storage Tank Removal <br /> 1 It is our understanding that two underground storage tanks (USTs) were removed from the <br /> site on March 7, 1991 one 10,000-gallon diesel UST and one 5,000-gallon gasoline UST <br /> Four soil samples were collected from beneath the USTs at the time of removal The soil <br /> samples were analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH as gasoline and diesel) and <br /> volatile aromatics (BTE&X) Analytical results of the soil samples indicated that an <br /> unauthorized release of both diesel and gasoline had occurred at the site Additional soil <br /> was removed from the former UST excavation in 1991 <br /> Owbpwl Audi S..aar.1+ 1 <br /> CP&Wm PlmaoiNkâ– 1915 <br />
