low
 KLEINFELDER
40 GROUND WATER ASSESSMENT WORK PLAN
CAL WEST CONCRETE CUTTING, INC.
MANTECA, CALIFORNIA
24-220211-A00
October 29, 1992
INTRODUCTION
Cal West Concrete Cutting, Inc , is located at 1153 Vanderbilt Circle in Manteca Two
underground storage tanks (10,000-gallon diesel and 5,000-gallon gasoline) were excavated
and removed from the site. At the request of San Joaquin County Public Health Services
(SJCPHS), additional soil was removed from the excavation Based on the analytical results,
Ms Turkette of the SJCPHS indicated that the County would not request additional soil
removal based on the data However, due to the past shallow depth to water, the County
requested one to three ground water monitoring wells The number of wells installed would be
dependent on the ability to estimate a ground water gradient for the site from a nearby facility
with existing ground water monitoring wells The County has requested the following items
from Cal West Concrete Cutting
► A Work Plan and Boring Permit,
Ground Water Gradient Review;
• lo, A Minimum of One Ground Water Monitoring Well,
A Report of Findings
SCOPE OF SERVICES
Task 1 - Ground Water Gradient Review
Ms Turkette had indicated to Kleinfelder that there was a facility at 575 Industrial Road in
Manteca with existing ground water monitoring wells If the ground water gradient at this
facility appeared to be consistent for at least two quarters, the SJCPHS would consider the
initial installation of a single monitoring well downgradient of the excavation Cal West
Concrete Cutting should be aware that if a consistent gradient is not observed or petroleum
hydrocarbons are encountered in the single monitoring well, additional monitoring wells will
be requested by the County.
Kleinfelder contacted Mr Joseph Henao of the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control
Board (RWQCB) in an effort to review available RWQCB files on the Ditz Brothers facility
located at 575 Industrial Road. Mr Henao has the Manteca area as his area of oversight
responsibility. According to Mr. Henao, there are no files at the RWQCB for the Ditz
Brothers facility. Kleinfelder is submitting a file review request to San Joaquin County.
According to the County, it will take approximately three weeks to process the file review
application.
•
FWP2-92-23 Page 1 of 3
Copyright 1992 Klemfelder, Inc
