f • <br /> k" KLEI N FELDER D <br /> ,SUN 18 1993 <br /> June 10, 1993ENV4RONMENTAL HEALTH <br /> File 24-220172-A00 PERMIT I SERVICES <br /> Mr Brick Joseph <br /> Cal West Concrete Cutting, Inc <br /> 1153 Vanderbilt Circle <br /> Manteca, California 95336 <br /> Subject: Limited Groundwater Assessment <br /> Cal West Concrete Cutting, Inc. <br /> Manteca, California <br /> Dear Mr. Joseph <br /> Enclosed are the analytical results for the second of two rounds of groundwater sampling from <br /> the newly installed monitoring well at the Cal West Concrete Cutting facility in Manteca The <br /> following summarizes the field activities and results of the groundwater sampling Petroleum <br /> hydrocarbon concentrations were not detected above laboratory reporting limits in the water <br /> samples <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> The site is located at 1153 Vanderbilt Circle in Manteca Two underground storage tanks <br /> (10,000 gallon diesel and 5,000 gallon gasoline) were excavated and removed from the site <br /> Later, at the request of San Joaquin County Public Health Services (SJCPHS), additional soil <br /> was removed from the excavation <br /> Ms. Linda Turkette of the SJCPHS indicated that the County will not request additional soil <br /> removal based on results of the groundwater assessment Currently, groundwater is <br /> approximately 25 feet below the ground surface However, due to histoncally shallow <br /> groundwater at the site (approximately 10 feet below ground surface), the County requested <br /> the installation of one to three groundwater monitoring wells to assess the potential presence of <br /> petroleum hydrocarbons in the groundwater <br /> Kleinfelder proposed installing one monitoring well immediately downgradient of the <br /> excavation to assess groundwater Ms Turkette indicated that there is a site nearby with <br /> existing groundwater monitoring wells If the groundwater gradient at this site appeared to be <br /> consistent for at least two quarters, SJCPHS would consider the initial installation of a single <br /> monitoring well downgradient of the excavation <br /> As part of the groundwater assessment at Cal West Concrete Cutting, Inc (Cal West), <br /> Kleinfelder reviewed groundwater assessment reports for a facility at 575 Industrial Park Drive <br /> 24-220172-AOO/FR11-72(1993) Pane 1 of 4 <br /> Copyri ht 1993 Kleinfelder Inc <br /> KE_EINFEC A 3077 Fite Circle, Sacramento, CA 95827 (916) 366-1701 <br />
