Di Saivu Truck Lines-SIR <br /> March 9, 1995 <br /> Page-6- <br /> samples were analyzed for benzene, toluene, ethyl benzene, and xylene (BTEX) by EPA Method 8020, <br /> and for total extractable petroleum hydrocarbons, quantified as kerosene, diesel and motor oil (TEPH) <br /> by Method 3.550,1LL1FT. The groundwater samples were analyzed for BTEX by EPA Method 602 and <br /> for TEPH by Method 3510/LLFT. Laboratory report sheets indicating analytical methods used, <br /> detection Iimits, and results of analyses are presented in Appendix C. <br /> 5.0 RESULTS OF ANALYSES <br /> Laboratory analyses of soil samples SP2-6 and SP2-12 detected TEX constituents at <br /> concentrations ranging from 150 4:— to 3_0 }tg/1cg and diesel at concentrations ranging from 1,640 <br /> mg/kg to 5,800 mg/kg- The reported laboratory detection limits for BTEX constituents and TEPH <br /> were raised in SP2 because of high hydrocarbon concentrations detected in the soil samples collected <br /> from SP2. Benzene, kerosene and motor oil were not detected in SP2-6 and SP2-12 at or above the <br /> reported laboratory detection limits. Diesel was detected in SP3-6, SP3-12, SP4-6 and SP4-12 at <br /> concentrations ranging from 5.8 mg/kg to 16 mg/kg. BTEX constituents, kerosene and motor oil were <br /> not detected at or above the reported laboratory detection limits in the soil samples collected from SP3 <br /> and SP4. No evidence of hydrocarbon contamination was detected at or above the reported laboratory <br /> detection limits in the soil samples collected from SP I. <br /> r <br /> Laboratory analyses of groundwater samples collected from SP2 and SP4 detected BTEX <br /> constituents at concentrations ranging from ND to 5.0 �c l and diesel at concentrations ranging from <br /> 350 mg/l to 520 mg/l. Diesel was detected in SPI at a concentration of I8 mg/l. The laboratory <br /> detection limits requested by SJCPHS,EHD, on the day of field work, were raised because of elevated <br /> hydrocarbon concentrations in the groundwater samples. Kerosene and motor oil were not detected <br /> at or above the reported laboratory detection limits in SPI, SP2 and SP4 and BTEX constituents were <br /> not detected in SPI. BTEX constituents were not detected in the trip blank at or above the reported <br /> laboratory detection limits.
